Teens are seen, but we’re not heard
Adults can’t hear our screamed out words
We all call out for help, we all scream and shout
But still you ignore us like you don’t care

All we want is for you to say you care,
We’re sick of hearing ‘life’s not fair’
You don’t care when we cry in the moonlit night,
So you don’t understand why we start to fight

For you to listen as we describe or fears,
All we really want is for someone to care,
We don’t want you to stop and stare
We just have a need to be heard

Don’t you remember being our age,
And how life can feel like a locked cage?
Don’t you remember that need to escape,
In any possible way?

Won’t you take the time out of your busy lives,
Just to hear us cry and ask us why?
Sometimes all we want is to talk to you,
And all we want is for you to think we’re telling the truth
